MLY is Dutch fashion label created by Emily Hermans. The label is most known for being creative and innovative in respect to the knits and digital prints that makes up much of MLY’s clothing. On top of being known for digital and knitted apparel, MLY is also known for being eco and green-concious. In this day and age there are many ways in which designers can be green. Emily tries to embrace these green techniques while all the while maintaining the traits that her label is known for.
What does Emily Hermans, the designer of MLY have to say about being green? “I am realistic and know that green is almost absolutely impossible. But if I have the choice, I make clothes that are green and fair. I produce almost everything in the Netherlands and work as much as possible with ecological materials. Digital prints consume less water and use water based inkt. I try to give new life to yarns and materials left behind. In short, I take responsibility for what is within my power. Curious?
